If you have a laptop LCD monitor, you may find that the LCD display is degrading or starting to malfunction. Even there are also some serious problems like vertical lines or bad pixels on the LCD panel which cannot be fixed so that the only solution id to replace the entire LCD panel. On the other hand, some common problems like black screens, flickering, and dimness still can be repaired. Before you start, it is important for you to diagnose the problem correctly. You can check out the following tips that will guide you to repair a laptop LCD monitor.As the first step, you have to turn your laptop off. Just wait for a few minutes and then you can unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet. After that, you should remove the battery from its dock under your laptop. It is important for you to not attempt to the dismantle components with the power source. Before you start it, you should wear an anti-static wrist strap.
The second step that you need to do is to remove the screws from the plastic frame that bordering the LCD panel. This frame is also known as the bezel which holds the screen in the place with screws that refer to the product documentation to place and undo all screws. For some models of laptop, it is required to dislodge small rubber seals in order to expose the screws underneath. You can use a flat-tipped implement for removing the rubber seals.
The third step is to pull away the frame. Just place the guitar pick between the plastic frame and the glass surface of the LCD, and you need to gently work your way all around the frame.
The fourth step is to locate and also check the two cable connections. The LCD screen is connected to the small green inverter board using power cable, and it is connected to the motherboard via video cable. In this step, you need to unplug the cables from the screen and then attach them again. After that, you have to turn the monitor on and check it. If you find that the monitor has same problem, you have to replace the inverter or the backlight.
The fifth step is to check the connections and the components before you are going to reattach the frame. You have to make sure that the inverter board is firmly held in place and the cables are connected properly. Then, you can put back the screws on to attach the bezel around the screen.
Finally, you can turn your computer on. You need to make sure that the LCD can display the bright images without flickering. If not, it is required to replace the LCD panel.
